An OVERVIEW of Digital Artwork,
File Transfer, and Vital Stats TRANSFER
Digital artwork for engraving can be quickly transferred from your or your client’s computer to BEC via the Internet. Because the file size is typically small, electronic transfer via the Internet is an inexpensive and reliable alternative to shipping files, film or artwork. With modest planning and a little practice, turnaround for an order can be reduced by hours or even days. Additionally, files that require changes or updating can be revised quickly and easilyprior to imaging.
E-mail, like most things, is not a constant. At best it can be almost instantaneous. However, during periods of increased amounts of traffic (usage, data and other e-mail) transfers can take hours. A faxed order form and hardcopy will alert the computer staff of the incoming email.
Our graphics department is equipped with Macintosh computers capable of cross-platforming. Film is output at 2540 dpi and has a maximum image width of 18.0".
